'If this Political Party Were a House...': Theological Reflections upon the Style and Spirit of New Labour
Abstract
The New Style The Labour Party has transformed its identity and this transition can be imagined as a change of address. Having moved away from its humble origins, the party now resides in a 'three storey Victorian Terrace house in Islington; with marble floors, a well-kept garden and Oasis wafting from an expensive sound system'. This, at least, is the verdict of a focus group of voters who were asked to imagine what sort of house they thought the Labour Party might be.
