  1. The essay reminds me that the major social ethics classes at Union Theological Seminary began with reflection on family ethics and then moved on to the broader issues. Some of us who were politically active in the 1960s were in too much of a hurry to move on to race, economic, political and interntional relations subjects. We could have benefited by paying more attention to the design of those courses.
