Why Evangelicals have regarded the Bible as an object of worship, by Yasunori Aoki.

The purpose of this book is the clarification of the American mind, especially Evangelicals.  American history has been shaped by Biblical doctrines, which is strange for those outside of America. Of course, many American researchers have pointed out the strange and curious situation. But  seen from a Japanese standpoint, I would have to say that most of them are inner analysis. It has been said that the Japanese have another religious heart. In this case, it works for good discussion and deepens our consideration of the American mind.

In this book, I’m concerned with the middle of 19th to 1980s (almost 100 years).  I will approach the historical topics concerning the Bible from both the side of Evangelicals and Liberals. Why did Evangelicals accuse Liberalism? What was the consequence of their battles for the Bible? Who is the winner and the loser?  What is the American mind?
