This time, in addition to celebrating the year of Political Theology publication in print and online, we are partnering with the publisher Orbis and Boston College to feature two books with connections to the journal: Anti-Blackness and Christian Ethics (edited by Vincent Lloyd and Andrew Prevot) and The Problem of Wealth (by Elizabeth Hinson-Hasty).

We’re very excited to be expanding programing around the journal through the Political Theology Network, an initiative funded by the Henry Luce Foundation. We are able to sponsor a dissertation workshop at AAR as well as a mentoring program for doctoral students from groups underrepresented in the field of political theology.

Finally, we’re pleased to see the launch this year of a new AAR program unit on political theology, led by David Newheiser and Inese Radzins. It will meet on Saturday, November 18, 9-11:30am, Hynes Convention Center 306, for a discussion of “Resisting: Political Theology” with presentations by William Cavanaugh, Sarah Hammerschlag, Pamela Lightsey, Anna Rowlands, and Philip Gorski.

Please pass this along to others who may be interested.

Looking forward to seeing you in Boston!
